WITTENSTEIN high integrity systems Extends Its RTOS Support To Include The ARM Cortex A Series
15 Jan, 2015WITTENSTEIN high integrity systems has extended its Real Time Operating Systems product range to include support for the ARM Cortex A processor series, for use with OpenRTOS in commercial applications, and SafeRTOS in safety critical products.
The ARM Cortex A RTOS ports from WITTENSTEIN high integrity systems (WHIS) have initially been implemented on the Freescale i.MX6, the Xilinx Zync 7000, and the Renesas RZ processors. RTOS datasheets and fully functional SafeRTOS demos are available for download from our website at https://www.highintegritysystems.com.
“By adding support for the ARM Cortex A series we can offer our easy to use, hard real time RTOS products to developers working upon larger more complex applications.” said Andrew Longhurst, Business Development Manager for WHIS. “We have already experienced strong interest in using SafeRTOS on Cortex A cores. Having a small footprint, trusted, safety certified RTOS such as SafeRTOS at the heart of a complex, multicore, safety system seems to be a compelling design decision for many system architects”.
SafeRTOS delivers determinism and robustness to safety critical applications whilst utilising minimal resources. Containing key safety features and supplied with a Design Assurance Pack, SafeRTOS is available pre-certified by TÜV SÜD to IEC 61508-3 SIL-3 and is the ideal choice for projects requiring safety certification within the Industrial, Medical, Aerospace, Automotive and Transportation domains. OpenRTOS is an advanced, small footprint RTOS, designed for use within commercial applications where high levels of performance and responsiveness are required. Easy to understand and use, OpenRTOS is delivered with a working ‘out of the box’ demonstration application, for your specific processor/compiler combination. Also available is a range of high quality, feature rich middleware components for use with SafeRTOS or OpenRTOS including networking, file systems and USB components.
There will be a dedicated ARM Cortex A design pod on the WHIS stand at Embedded World 2015, with live RTOS demonstrations from our senior engineers. Embedded World 2015 will be held in Nuremberg, Germany from the 24th to the 26th of February 2015.
