03 Nov, 2015We’re pleased to present the first of a series of market specific newsletters to help you in your industry. Developing a medical device? Contact us today.
SafeRTOS for Embedded Medical Devices
Choose SafeRTOS for a responsive, robust, deterministic RTOS that contains features required for the development of medical devices. The included Design History File provides all the documentation required for an easy route to achieving certification once integrated within a medical device.
SafeRTOS supports FDA 510(k) class III device submissions and IEC 62304 class C certifications.
Design History File
The SafeRTOS Design History File complies with the requirements of 21 CFR 820. It contains all the documentation and testing evidence to support SafeRTOS’s inclusion in a Major Level Of Concern submission, according to the guidelines contained in the Guidance for the Content of Premarket Submissions for Software Contained in Medical Devices. Multicore
SafeRTOS enables dual and multicore/processor medical device designers to create seamless, mixed safety criticality designs. Due to its small size and its safety critical credentials, SafeRTOS is ideally suited for use on the primary core. This allows the system to boot and configure itself securely before enabling other cores that run non-critical applications, such as Linux to implement web servers and WiFi connections. More about Multicore.
SafeRTOS now includes support for Power Architecture cores, for use in Medical and Industrial applications.
SafeRTOS, our safety critical real-time operating system, enables dual and multicore Power Architecture software designers to create mixed safety criticality designs quickly and efficiently. In a multicore environment, SafeRTOS is typically used on cores implementing safety critical functionality, or on cores providing monitoring/verification of the primary function.
ARM TechCon 2015
We’ll be sending a senior level team to ARM TechCon in Santa Clara this November, including Andrew Longhurst, our Business Development Manager, Dave Vandenberg, our Head of US Sales, and Richard Barry, our Head of Innovation and the creator of FreeRTOS.
Contact us today to book an appointment to speak to one of the team.
New SafeRTOS Demos
New SafeRTOS demos are available for the Freescale MPC5674F and the Microchip dsPIC33.
The Freescale Power Architecture® MCU is ideal for medical devices and industrial safety-critical applications.
Microchip’s 16-bit dsPIC® Digital Signal Controllers provide designers with an easy upgrade path from 8-bit PIC® microcontrollers and a cost effective option to 32-bit MCUs.
