Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Aerospace)

This is a great opportunity for someone who has previous experience in assuring aerospace software development projects to progress their career in an established company. The successful candidate should be articulate and a self-starter with the desire to develop their career within a fast-paced team. The Software Quality Assurance Engineer will:

  • Support the Process & Quality Manager in assuring aerospace software development project processes and standards are being correctly followed.
  • Record process inconsistencies (non-conformances) and track corrective actions to completion.
  • Gather and report on Software Development Process KPIs to support the organisational quality objectives.
  • Provide support to engineers on process activities to foster a proactive culture of quality and improvement.

Minimum Education Standard

Whilst a good standard of education is required (“A” Level minimum) it is more important that you have experience of the Aerospace Software Development Life Cycle and the processes employed.

Required Experience and Expertise

  • Knowledge / experience of the full SDLC
  • Strong background in software development process
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices
  • Awareness of software / product development frameworks

Highly Desirable Additional Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience with DO-178C would be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience with Software Development Frameworks (e.g.  CMMI, ASPICE)
  • Knowledge of Safety Software Development to standards: IEC 61508, ISO26262, IEC 62304,
  • An awareness of emerging & existing Cyber security standards: ISO 21434, ISO 27001
  • Experience with the following tools would be an advantage:
    • DOORs
    • SVN
    • Azure DevOps
    • MS-Office
